One linear lot hosts the site for four individual properties comprising this commercial and residential development. Because the lots were only partially connected, the family members who owns the properties believed that they could never be developed as a single collective. ACHA's proposal envisions four blocks connected around a central courtyard, much like the Berlin hof. The ground floor is made up of retail spaces with three entrance lobbies to the residential and office units above. The courtyard, the result of zoning setbacks, maintains light and air to the neighboring and proposed buildings. With this design, ACHA was able to demonstrate the greater potential, diversity, and efficiency with which the site could be developed.
